About Christy

Christy Foldenauer serves her community as an ecumenical spiritual leader, pastor-at-large, keynote speaker and author. She is the founder and principal of Illumine, a leadership and team-dynamics consultancy, where she advises both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations - ranging from Tier 1 financial institutions and healthcare to the arts. Her faith-based executive coaching work spans leaders of large ministries and next-generation faith leaders.

Shear Gifts: Finding Hope When Life Is Hard is her first book. As a writer and poet, her words are care-full, sorted and folded like laundry into piles of truth and love (hence the pen name for poetry, FoldingWords). Christy not only puts pen to paper, but has also addressed thousands of men and women over two decades, both in retreat settings and special events, and from the pulpit. She is known for being both dynamic and deep, helping people connect faith to life with metaphor and rich imagery that leaves an impression on the heart.

"Christy is one of the finest leaders I know in Richmond.  She has been so helpful to me and to Crestwood.  Whether talking through a leadership hurdle, leading a ministry event or preaching - we always come out a better church."
